Ananda means
bliss. Vedic texts state that the nature of the ultimate Brahman,
or God, is "Sat-Chit-Ananda." (Being, Consciousness, and Bliss.) The bliss
of Brahman can be contacted through the stilling of the mind, which can
be accomplished through single-pointed concentration (dharana,
or meditation).
